Growth is the theme of the 2006-07 LCBO annual report. To
tell this growth story, LCBO chose an illustrative approach and vine motif to
reflect the LCBO brand and corporate logo.
In fiscal 2006-07, LCBO grew its business by continuing to
improve product selection, customer service and operational efficiency. LCBO
also continued to promote the Ontario wine, craft beer and spirits industries.
Revenues also grew, with the financial dividend to the
province increasing for the 13th straight year. LCBO’s commitment to social
responsibility grew by preventing more sales to minors and adults who appeared
intoxicated. And, we grew our environmental commitment by: helping to reduce
waste, introducing innovative, lightweight and convenient alternative packaging
such as Tetra Pak and PET (polyethylene terephthalate) plastic containers and
encouraging native Ontario wildlife and habitat.
To be more environmentally-friendly, LCBO created an online
annual report with video streaming, including a statement by our President and
CEO, Bob Peter, the three product category directors and the director of
VINTAGES, our fine wines and premium spirits section.
The site also includes coverage of the Buy to Fly
thematic concert launch showcasing our support for and partnership with Ontario
wineries and coverage of the Camp Oochigeas fundraising barbecue at the Queen’s
Quay store in Toronto, reflecting our community involvement. Finally, there’s a
segment from our Enviro Report video about LCBO’s Natural Heritage Fund
that in partnership with Banrock Station Wines and the Ontario Federation of
Anglers and Hunters is helping bring back native Atlantic salmon to the Lake
Ontario watershed.

corporate values as well as contribute to a better understanding of the factors
influencing LCBO’s performance during the 2006-07 fiscal year. Along with the
text, they also explain how LCBO addressed related challenges and took advantage
of opportunities to better serve our customers.
