It is fun to flavour vodka to your own specifications and have it on hand for the holidays. Here rosemary, a very strong aromatic herb with camphor-like fragrance, is used to enhance the vodka.
Rosemary Vodka 1 bottle vodka 1 to 2 large fresh rosemary sprigs
1. Place the rosemary sprigs in the vodka bottle and reseal. Leave the vodka for 2 to 3 days, until the vodka has absorbed the rosemary flavour. You will have to test the vodka daily to see how the flavour is developing. Remove the rosemary and drink neat or in the following cocktail.
1 oz rosemary vodka ½ oz Grand Marnier 2 oz freshly squeezed orange juice Ice Fresh rosemary sprig
1. Place all ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake well.
2. Strain into a Martini glass and, for a festive touch, garnish with fresh cranberries.
