From the Graves region of Bordeaux come some of the most highly sought after dessert wines in the world. These wines are distinctive, captivating and extraordinarily food-friendly. Paired with the likes of foie gras and blue cheese, this evening will show off both the variety within the world of Sauternes, as well as the versatility of them on the dinner table.

THE WINES OF SOUTHERN RHÔNE | $30

With such an interesting grape, grenache, leading the pack in this region of France there are truly some unique wines produced here. Familiar names such as Châteauneuf-de-Pape will stand alongside Gigondas, Vacqueyras, Lirac and others. If we’re lucky there will be some 2007’s in the line up, a vintage that Robert Parker Jr. calls the best of his lifetime.

To get a better idea of what the VINTAGES Classics Catalogue has to offer, our Product Consultant will choose from previous releases to inspire you in making your selection from this month’s catalogue. This is the source for the best of the best from wine and spirits. Tonight, we’ll also provide a food pairing component to bring the experience to the next level.

SENSORY DEPRIVATION TASTING | $50

This whole new experience of blindfolded food and wine pairing was so well received last year that we just had to do it again. We test the theory that the lack of sight heightens the senses of smell and taste in a completely blind tasting. Not only did this hold true last time but it really got everyone talking, too!

There will be a food component.

TEQUILA! | $40

Not going away to Mexico this winter break? Come join us here instead. A select tasting of a variety of tequilas from basic to premium will give you a much better idea of value versus price, and the whys behind it. This will be topped off by a sampling of a few classic tequila cocktails to get your winter break at home entertaining right on track.

DUELLING PRODUCT CONSULTANTS: A FOOD AND WINE
PAIRING CHALLENGE | $60

Sit down and enjoy four designer dishes prepared by Mezzo Ristorante. To demonstrate how there is never just one wine match for any dish, two of our Product Consultants will each be choosing an appropriate wine match for each dish. It will be up to you to decide which works best for you – and why.
