The LCBO has introduced a new, enhanced BYID Card. The new card has a
magnetic stripe (magstripe) that will be swiped at LCBO stores when a
cardholder is challenged for proof of age photo ID. The magstripe contains
an LCBO-specific code that confirms that the card is a valid, LCBO-issued
card. The Magstripe contains no personal information about the cardholder
or any information that could be linked to the cardholder.
All earlier versions of the BYID Card (without the magnetic stripe)
will be phased out by May 23, 2011. So if you will still be (or think you
may look) under 25 at that time, you need to apply for the new BYID Card.
Updating your card is easy. Visit any LCBO store, or submit by mail.
||Fully complete and sign the application below.
||Present your completed application along with your old
BYID card and $5.00 replacement fee to LCBO staff at the checkout or
customer service desk (please retain your receipt), The validated
application will be submitted on your behalf.
If you would prefer, you may submit your application by mail. Enclose a
certified cheque or money order for $5.00, payable to the LCBO.
(We cannot accept Personal cheques.)
Mail your completed application, current BYID Card, and payment to:
P.O. Box 1800, Stn. A
Toronto, Ontario, M5W 1V6
Please complete the entire application and sign it. Ensure
payment of $5.00 and the outdated BYID card is included. Failure to do
so may result in your application being returned.
For information about your application, please call (416) 864-6632. For
general inquiries about the BYID Card, please call 1-800-ONT-LCBO (668-5226)
or (416) 365-5900 in the Toronto area. Please allow one week for processing
